Anniversary Flowers: Beyond the Bunch
A standard bouquet is fine. A preserved arrangement that lasts for years is better. Here's how to choose the right anniversary floral gift — and why Studio Terra's pieces make sense.
There's nothing wrong with fresh flowers as an anniversary gift. But there's a ceiling to what a bunch of fresh flowers can be. It arrives beautiful, it lives beautifully for a week, and then it's finished. The gesture was felt. The flowers are gone.
An anniversary — especially a significant one — might deserve something that stays.
The case for preserved
A preserved floral arrangement marks the occasion and then continues to mark it. It sits in the home, on a shelf or a dresser, and becomes part of the space. Every time the recipient looks at it, the occasion is present again — lightly, without fanfare.
This is what makes preserved florals particularly suited to anniversaries. They're not a consumable gift. They're closer to an object — something that lives in the space for the years after the day itself.
Choosing the right scale
First through fifth anniversaries — A small or medium bundle is typically the right scale. Intimate, carefully made, suitable for a bedroom shelf or a desk. Price range: $69–$129.
Milestone anniversaries (10th, 25th, 50th) — These call for something larger. A Large or XL arrangement — 50–80cm, 10+ stems — reads as a genuine statement. Something that takes up space and draws attention. Price range: $169–$279.
If you're not sure — go larger rather than smaller. A preserved arrangement that reads as generous is more likely to become a cherished object than one that reads as token.
Colour and palette
The colour you choose matters. A few considerations:
Match their taste, not yours. If they're drawn to neutrals and natural tones — creams, beiges, warms whites — a "pink" arrangement might feel wrong even if pink is your favourite. Think about what they wear, how their home is decorated, what they're drawn to.
Safe choices for most tastes: Cream, warm white, and blush are versatile. Neutral palettes work across most interior styles and personal aesthetics.
Bold choices for the right person: Deep burgundy and red, rich terracotta and orange, or a full designer's choice commission if you trust us to build something distinctly beautiful.
Personalisation options
Every Studio Terra order includes:
- A colour theme selection (15 options) and optional accent colours
- A choice of bouquet or box presentation
- Optional card message — added to the arrangement or sent separately
- Personalised notes to us — occasion details, meaningful colours, anything that should inform the design
Lead time and delivery
We ask for a minimum of three days' notice for standard bundles. For a significant anniversary, ordering 1–2 weeks ahead gives us more room to source exceptional botanicals and build something considered.
We deliver across Sydney metro ($15 flat delivery). Pickup from the studio is always free.
